Homework Lumen

Updated: Jan 20, 2022

I started to cut the vegetables and the fruits at a thickness of 3-5mm.

Glass 3 mm

Vegetables

Start exposure : 16:20 romanian time

Full light sky no clouds

Temperature outdoors 20C

Cutting 3-5 mm

Stop exposure 16:45 Romanian time

I assembled the picture in a bathroom without window, and I exposed it at 16:20. I stayed there aprox. 25 minutes, until I was pleased with the contrast and how it looks.

I used a slice of radish, tomato, cherry tomato and a carrot. The carrot was slowly sliding down and moving ( slightly rotating), which is also visible in the final picture.

I assembled the picture in a bathroom without window, and I exposed it at 16:20. I stayed there aprox. 25 minutes, until I was pleased with the contrast and how it looks. I used kiwi, pomegranate, pear and persimmon fruit.

Because of the positioning in 45 degree angle, the fruit liquid has drained down the paper. This positioning also left a shadow of the fruits, which I like because it gave a soft contour. In the second picture, are visible some white spots, and those are pieces of newspaper, because I tried to fry the fruits. In the developement of the picture, the newspaper does not show on the final image, because it came off as I put it in stop, fixer and washing with water (liquids).

Herbs

Glass 3 mm

Start exposure 16:55

Full light sky no clouds

Temperature outdoor 20C

Stop exposure 17:15

I assembled the picture in a bathroom without window, and I exposed it at 16:55. I stayed there aprox. 20 minutes, until I was pleased with the contrast and how it looks.

On this picture, I used developer, and that darkened it completely, so it can't even be seen what was in the picture. The picture cannot be used. It is a fail.

In the developement of the picture, very interestingly, the writing has printed on the picture.

Evaluative comments:

At the first attempts I put the plants tilted on the car window, and the products being cut into different thicknesses, the thinnest one (carrot) slowly slipped down. In the second attempt the fruits and vegetables having a lot of liquid, started to flow, leaving an unwanted trace. On the following attempts I put the project on the ground, but it was almost sunset, and the sun was shining a little from the side, which created a shadow on some of the products, and the vegetables soaked all the paper through their juice.
